I find the best way to learn is to cook food that you want to eat. To this end, we will discuss the meal or dish you want to prepare and we can pinpoint the areas where there could be difficulty. I specialise in vegetarian and vegan cooking, but I have worked with ingredients from all over the world.

Classes are broken into two parts, preparation and service. Preparation involves safety in the kitchen, selecting the ingredients, discussing the benefits and drawbacks of different cooking methods and sanitation.
Service is when we get to put the theory into practice and you can allow your creativity to shine through. Even as an absolute beginner, every cook has a different style and way of thinking about food, so I like to encourage experimentation in the kitchen. This way you can find out what you excel at at what might need improvement.

I love food and learning new cuisines so if you are interested in something I don't have much experience with, I am very willing to work together to improve your learning experience and skills.
I have worked in hotels and restaurants in Galway on the Wild Atlantic Way, catering for weddings, communions and funerals, along with busy breakfast and restaurant service. I can bring this experience to the lesson, allowing me to answer any questions you might have on techniques, recipes, world cuisines and even a behind the scenes look at professional kitchen service.
