I am a native English Teacher, qualified in TESOL and have been teaching in Spain since 2015. I have trained in AMCO and have taught children from as young as two years in their home and in schools and Summer Camps. I have prepared students for Key, Preliminary, First , Advanced and Proficiency Cambridge Exams with excellent results. I have experience in teaching Business English in in-company classes. It is important to me to practice pronunciation with all my students and I show them how to make certain sounds that are never practiced in their mother tongue and can be new and daunting for some students young and old alike who rarely speak English and really need to get confident with using their English tongue, so I like to get them to practice and then they become more confident and happy with their progress.
I have a passion for foreign languages, etymology, and learning about world cultures. I am a natural teacher, as a young child I taught ballet routines to friends in my ballet group. In junior school dance classes I demonstrated innovative moves to the teacher to incorporate into routines for the class. At school I always helped my friends with their French and Spanish vocabulary and grammar.

During childhood holidays abroad I made good friends with kids my age and tried to learn their language. When my school was closed for training days I really enjoyed helping my mum’s pupils in her English class with reading and spelling.

As a student nurse I had to teach parents and patient’s carers how to administer nursing care and medication. I also taught new mothers how to breast feed and express milk, neonatal care and how to administer medication. Some mums did not speak English so I had to interpret for them so they could understand what to do. I taught a dance routine to a class in a special needs school for their summer school competition and the class won. I also assisted the teacher in all classes and loved teaching the children.

As an English Assistant at Lycée Marie Curie, Versailles, France, I taught English oral, written and aural to small and large groups, to prepare the lycéens for their baccalauréat exams. For the younger Lycée classes I could choose what topics to teach, and used songs for translating into English and class discussions to improve their confidence in speaking English as well as understanding.

I have multinational friends and colleagues and have tutored some in English in exchange for their tuition in their language. I have worked as a popular belly dance teacher, a role which required effective teacher-pupil relationships, and maintained a high degree of commitment and enthusiasm amongst my students. This work also required a high level of attention to the students' individual needs, involving an instinctive and intelligent approach to explaining moves and linguistic skills to aid communication with European and Middle Eastern students.

I am flexible and friendly, and pride myself on using my initiative when necessary. I have excellent customer relationship and transferrable skills which enables me to maintain a positive atmosphere in challenging situations. As a result of establishing a good working dynamic amongst volunteers and paid workers in charity shops, I have received regular positive feedback from customers.
Having worked in a variety of settings, I have developed an adaptable approach to both utilising my professional skills and to differing working hours and environments.

• Nanny for two brothers ages five and nine years old. Escorting them to school, and back home. Providing them with a healthy snack, fun and games, music and singing before assisting them with their homework. Preparing and serving their dinner to them and then getting them ready for story time and bed.

• As an ECDL student I was quick to learn, diligent, resourceful and extremely motivated and I welcomed new challenges. I excel at working to deadlines, finishing the first two modules within the allocated time and the third in two days.

• I joined Nikken after using their magnetic products which sped up the recovery of my badly injured back so much that I wanted to show others the benefits of the products and the business itself. I held monthly meetings where I made presentations with product demonstrations, explaining the technologies that were used in the products, and how the business plan worked. After initially working with my team leader I formed a small team of independent wellness consultants. As a Wellness Consultant I did one to one and group training on the company’s business and wellness technologies and products.
November 2005 – March 2008: Birmingham Women’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
• Neonatal nurse. I was responsible for providing high quality nursing care to premature babies and neonates requiring special care or high dependency care from their admission to discharge.
• I provided oxygen therapy, personal hygiene cares, feeding and nutritional needs and medication following the hospital’s guidelines and protocols. I taught new mothers how to breast feed and use a breast pump, and how to provide neonatal care to their babies.

September 2002 – July 2005: Student Nurse UCE

• As a student nurse I developed paediatric and neonatal nursing skills at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Birmingham Women’s’ Hospital.
• I trained in Paediatric Community Nursing, Community Neonatal Nursing and Health Visiting, and School Nursing.
• At Dame Ellen Pinsett I assisted in teaching students with behavioural and learning difficulties such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism and Down’s syndrome. Taught the winning dance routine to a class for the summer term dance competition.

August - April 2002: Birmingham East and North PCT

• I was a social care worker providing personal hygiene care to adults with autism, dementia and behavioural problems. I escorted clients out on walks, and shopping trips, and cooked all their meals and cleaned the bungalows.
