I have a lot of teaching experience - I have an English teaching qualification, a PGCE (Primary) and have taught in Spanish primary schools for 8 years as an English Literacy teacher. I have also worked for the British Council (Young Learners) at their summer school and in their after school classes.
I try to provide lessons where children learn through play and that are imaginative, fun and engaging and focus on the individual needs of the child. It is important that classes are child centred rather than teacher directed. I have a lot of my own teaching resources. I also have a Fine Art degree and where possible I use this to introduce a creative element in the classes. I try to focus on speaking and pronunciation too in order for children to develop their confidence and improve as often this is something that they need more practice in.
I have been a speaking examiner for the Cambridge Exams from Young Learners to Advanced since 2015. I have had experience helping students towards achieving their B1 and B2 Cambridge certificates. I have spent several summers teaching in an English summer school working with students from many different countries from elementary to upper intermediate levels.
I have a CELTA certificate and experience teaching adults.....I am happy to give either conversation or general classes.
I live in the north of Madrid near Franco Rodriguez/Estrecho metros.
I charge 25€ an hour but if the classes are for example 1.5 or 2 hours, then it is 20€ an hour.
