Teaching is not just a well-respected profession but also a well honoured relationship between a teacher and his or her students. It is not all about giving out knowledge to students but also inspiring the young generation. Sometimes others can be inspired by the choice of your words and teachers must be able to use appropriate terminology when talking around certain topics. Students become very inspired when they hear new and unfamiliar words which increases their inquisitiveness and enthusiasm and become more interested in their learnings. I always became inspired by my teachers and lecturers whenever they used big words as it would encourage me to go and do self and independent study.
Communication is vitally important in teaching as it allows teachers to convey their message. However, only good teachers show great skills of communication when they are addressing different groups of students. Communication is the only thing which helps build up a good relationship between teachers and their students and it encourages students to open up a bit when asking questions if they don’t understand certain concepts during learning process. Poor or less communication between teachers and their students can cause a lot of problems and may lead to depression because sometimes students feel shy and maybe afraid to ask questions if the teacher is very strict and not being able to demonstrate empathy towards students. Demonstration of empathy allows teachers to understand students’ needs as it helps them identify and distinguish between weak and strong students.
Teaching a huge number of students of different nationality and language is not an easy task and therefore requires a lot of effort and skills. I worked in Spain for one academic year where I taught spoken English in a semi private school which has branches all around Europe. I taught over 600 students including infantile, primary, secondary and sixth from or high school students. I was the head of oral English exams consisted of oxford and Cambridge examination board. All the students were examined by me and they had three exams; one for each term. I was responsible for grading and marking their oral examination as well as feeding the data into the computer system and reporting the head teacher about the exam results. Marking over 600 students was not an easy task and therefore required a lot of time. It helped me improve my I.T skills and time management skills as the results must be submitted before a set deadline.
Over the period of my placement in Spain; I developed a range of different skills, such as communication skills, being able to demonstrate empathy, classroom and behaviour management and being able to cope with all the stress that comes along when the workload is all over your shoulder and you have a limited time for preparation and lessons planning.

I have been teaching science for 5 years now. I have in secondary schools and sixth form college.

Working with youngsters always give us a hope for a better and sustainable world as they are the future who will work for the betterment of our earth planet. Being hopeful and determined with a purpose and objective in your mind is a sign which shows that you care expecting nothing in return. I want to teach with the hope that my students will one day become professionals in their practical life and say, “I was inspired by my teacher and here I am today”.
