Bonjour!

My name is Louis, a native speaker and certified teacher of French with extensive experience. I hold a master's degree in didactics of French as a foreign language and a bachelor's degree in linguistics and communication. For many years, I have been giving private lessons both in person and online to people of all ages and levels, from all backgrounds and in different educational contexts including universities, colleges, language schools and organizations.

As a passionate educator, I provide my students with the opportunity to learn and understand the language and culture, to acquire the appropriate communication skills, in order to use the language effectively in their daily lives. My lessons take place in a professional and friendly atmosphere. I create a learning environment that is not only attractive, but also conducive to meeting the needs and goals of my students.
I focus mainly on conversation, grammar, writing, pronunciation and preparation for the DELF-DALF and TCF-TEF exams.

I enjoy using digital materials: texts, grammar and exercise books as well as videos, audio recordings, podcasts and songs, dictionaries, an interactive whiteboard and various "authentic documents" adapted to the needs and levels of my students.

As I mentioned before, I have 20+ years’ experience teaching French as a second language in French-speaking countries, French as a foreign language in English-speaking countries and French for specific purposes (Business, Tourism and Hospitality, Professional Communication). This experience has helped me create the best possible French lessons, always tailored to the needs of my students.

I focus on developing speaking, listening, reading, and basic writing skills using simple dialogues, visuals, practical exercises, and real-life examples. From the very beginning, I encourage learners to use the language naturally and confidently.

My teaching approach is learner-centered and supportive. I adapt the pace, content, and teaching methods to suit each student’s learning style and progress. During lessons, I regularly check understanding, encourage questions, and adjust explanations when necessary. I place strong emphasis on building confidence, motivation, and consistency.

I also value lesson follow-up and continuous improvement. I provide constructive feedback, suggest practice activities when appropriate, and help students develop effective learning strategies. I am patient, organized, and reliable, and I maintain clear and respectful communication with students and parents. My goal is not only to teach a foreign language, but also to support long-term progress, autonomy, and enjoyment in the learning process.

I enjoy creating a calm, encouraging atmosphere where students feel comfortable learning and making mistakes. I believe patience, clarity, and positive reinforcement are essential for effective language learning and long-term success for students.
