I am a positive, friendly, outgoing and engaging individual with great people-skills, an ability to get on with people from all backgrounds and a desire to help others to achieve as much as possible. In 2000 I went to the North of Scotland with a charity called Trees For Life and helped to plant trees in a deforested area of Inverness. This experience reinforced the importance of using my time to help others and in 2006 I raised over £3000 for the charity Mental Health Foundation by completing a sponsored hike in Peru along the Lares Trail and then to Machu Picchu.
While in Peru I fell in love with the country, the culture and the Spanish language and I immediately sought out opportunities to return there as soon as possible. I have now lived in Peru since 2007, undertaking various different roles but none have given me as much enjoyment as that of an English language teacher. Watching my students grow with confidence as they master a new language has given me tremendous satisfaction and I hope to be able to continue seeing many more students succeed in future.
