English Conversation Classes with Native Speaker and University Lecturer (PhD)

Hello! I’m Rory, a native-level English tutor with a PhD in English Literature and lecturer at a local University. I work with adults who want to feel more confident speaking English in real, everyday situations, especially in hospitality, customer-facing roles, and general conversation.

With a background in university teaching and many years of supporting learners from different countries, I understand that everyone arrives with their own strengths, hesitations, and goals. My classes are centred around you — your pace, your interests, and the areas you want to develop. Whether you want to feel more natural in conversation, understand guests more easily, or simply enjoy speaking English without pressure, I’ll guide you with patience and clarity.

My approach
I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where you feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. Rather than following a rigid syllabus, I adapt each lesson to what you actually need — authentic topics, natural conversation, and skills that transfer directly into everyday life or work situations. I encourage students to speak as much as possible, and I build each session around real communication, personal interests, and practical language that feels meaningful, not mechanical.
