English Lessons - fun, creative, interactive

Hi there!

I'm Mike, a Canadian guy living in Asturias. I've lived in several countries and have an extensive outdoor guiding and education background. I also have more than 8 years of teaching experience and can help in the following areas:
*Learning the English language (British or American)

*Interviews and meetings
*Presentations and public speaking

*Travel preparation

I tend not to follow a specific method because each student is different. Instead, I tailor my lessons to meet their individual needs. I guess you could say that I teach 'outside the box.' Therefore, in the initial meeting with new students, I first determine their level and what they want to achieve. My lessons are fun, creative, and interactive. Also, I am incredibly patient and open-minded. Finally, I believe that, instead of teaching someone a language, it's more important to teach them how to learn that language. What do I mean by that? Students progress much more during our lessons if they understand how they managed to learn something and can then carry that learning forward. My favourite part about teaching is watching students figure something out, and their eyes light up. It's one of the most satisfying feelings I've ever experienced.

Our first lesson will be a short consultation to determine your needs and set short and long-term goals. This consultation will be free, of course. From there, we'll work together towards achieving these goals and adapting our lessons accordingly as things progress.
