TESOL Certified English Tutor with a lot of experience both teaching in person and online

TESOL Certified English Tutor with a lot of teaching experience both in the classroom and online. My lessons are practical and fun, and include debates on a great variety of topics. My goal is to have my students enjoy while learning the language and I focus on helping them improve their accuracy, their fluency and their pronunciation.

I was born in Girona, a small historic town North East of Catalonia (Spain), known for its medieval architecture, walled old quarter and its Roman remains, and surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges, gorgeous beaches and coves .

At a very young age I set out to make a dream come true and moved to California, where I lived for some time to later move to New York City, where I lived for several years. The Big Apple served as the tipping point for the onset of maturity and it was a period of personal transformation.

I have always felt passionate about learning foreign languages and I love talking to people from all over the world and being able to communicate with them in their own language, as well as learn about their countries and their culture. 

Back in 2006 I became a TESOL certified English teacher and I have been working as an English tutor ever since, both in person and online. I teach individuals of all age groups, both face-to-face and online. I teach both general and business English classes and have a lot of experience preparing students for official tests like TOEFL, IELTS, and Cambridge PET, FCE, Advanced and Proficiency.

I use a wide range of materials and course books, and audiovisual aids on a great variety of topics to help students improve the four basic language skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. I try to make my classes as fun and practical as possible and focus on conversational skills, accuracy, fluency and pronunciation to sound more natural. I use games, but also more formal material like grammar, vocabulary and listening exercises as well as literature.

I am currently studying a bachelor's degree in psychology, which I have always wanted to do, and a bachelor's degree in English studies: language, literature and culture to broaden my knowledge of the literature and culture of all English speaking countries.
