Avalon Gartlan

Hi, my name is Avalon! :)

When I was 18, I moved from a small town in Ireland to Paris where I worked I worked an an Au Pair, taking care of and teaching an 8 year old boy English, while I myself learned how to speak French. From there, I moved to Amsterdam where I got my bachelor's degree in International Business and Languages (French and Spanish) and now I'm 26, living and teaching English in Madrid after completing a 120-hour TEFL course.

Besides my love for languages and travelling, I love to sing and play music - I play the guitar, the piano and the saxophone. I also love photography and try to take my camera with me everywhere I go! But most importantly, I looove helping people and am very enthusiastic about coming up with fun and engaging lessons for my student's while also getting to know them!

My primary objective when teaching is to provide a safe and nurturing learning environment that encourages student growth and development. I aim to facilitate fun, engaging and challenging instruction that fosters a love for learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skill :)
