I was born in Melbourne, Australia and English is my mother tongue. Since October 2009 I have resided in A Coruña, Spain working as an ESL teacher. I began my career by teaching English to private students from the ages of 4-18yrs. This involved planning my own classes and teaching lessons which encompassed a range of skill-building activities for speaking, writing, reading and listening. I was also employed as an ESL teacher in a private academy during the academic years of This position enabled me to gain confidence and knowledge in teaching to larger groups of students. It also assisted in improving my delivery skills as a teacher with the guidance of more experienced professionals.

During the past seven years I have been taking part in the Auxiliar de conversacion program run by the Spanish government. Within this role I have assisted students to improve their conversational skills through educational activities and aided in broadening their knowledge of the Australian culture making a positive difference in their education. I have employed kinesthetic, visual and auditory approaches to make lessons interesting and interactive. It has also involved developing lesson plans to teach course materials according to their schedule. As a result of this position I have been able to become very creative and discovered many platforms to assist in presenting fun, inspirational classes.

More recently I have been teaching at an academy where I have been conducting English classes to students preparing for both Trinity, IELTS and Cambridge exams. It also includes directed lessons for business, travel and conversation. The position has proven to be very rewarding for me thus far and I have enjoyed watching students grow and reach their full potential. It has also allowed me to observe, assess, record and report students progress.

Teaching is something that I am both passionate and motivated about. I continue to further my education in this role and have obtained a TEFL qualification and attend regular ESL conferences online to keep me abreast with current methods. I fell I am an organised ESL teacher adept at developing an up to date curriculum and resources. I incorporate new teaching methods and educational software to enhance the learning experience.
