I’m Catherine, a qualified and experienced bilingual Spanish teacher with 20 years of experience and a strong background in teaching in the UK, Madrid, and currently online. I have taught in schools and academies, as well as working with private students, which has given me a solid understanding of learners’ needs, goals, and cultural context. I believe every student is different, and that the learning process and objectives may vary depending on their focus and individual needs.
I teach Spanish from A2 to C1 level to children, teenagers, and adults, covering both general Spanish and exam preparation. I specialize in preparing students for official exams such as GCSE and AQA Spanish, helping them build accuracy, confidence, and a clear understanding of what examiners are looking for. In addition, I teach Business Spanish and Spanish for travel for learners who want to stay up to date with current language and expressions in different contexts, while also gaining cultural insight.
I combine my two passions and careers: journalism and teaching, which brings a dynamic and engaging approach to my lessons. I focus on clear explanations, practical grammar, and meaningful communication, while placing strong emphasis on listening and reading as the foundation for speaking, since without these, speaking does not flow naturally. My goal is to help students progress steadily, communicate naturally, and enjoy the learning process.
