Hi,

I’m David, an experienced and adaptable tutor with 20 years of teaching experience across schools, colleges, and private tuition. Over the years, I’ve taught English, Maths, Science, History, and Religious Studies to students from Key Stage 1 through to A-Level, as well as preparing international learners for IELTS and other English exams.

My teaching style is structured yet flexible. Every lesson is tailored to the learner’s individual goals — whether that’s catching up at school, preparing for exams, or developing broader academic confidence and curiosity. I focus on building strong foundations so students become independent and confident learners, not just prepared for the next test but equipped for future study.

Subjects and Areas Covered:
• English Language & Literature (KS1–A-Level, IELTS) – essay structure, analysis, creative writing, speaking and pronunciation skills.
• Maths (KS1–GCSE–A-Level) – clear, step-by-step explanations to build understanding, problem-solving ability, and exam confidence.
• Science (KS1–GCSE) – practical, concept-based learning in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
• History & Religious Studies (KS3–A-Level) – analytical writing, source evaluation, and thematic understanding.

I work online via Zoom or Google Classroom using screen-sharing tools and shared whiteboards. My lessons are calm, focused, and supportive, with an emphasis on progress and genuine understanding rather than memorisation. I also provide optional homework, revision strategies, and regular feedback so students and parents can clearly see improvement over time. Initial assessments help identify strengths and gaps, allowing us to set realistic targets and track progress together in a motivating way.
