Eleazar Sánchez Ormeño

I am a dedicated teacher with some years of experience developing lesson plans and teaching classes mainly in Spain, in primary grades and in Secondary Schools in England. 

My secondary education in IES Valle- Inclán gave me a broad insight into a range of subjects and disciplines. I achieved strong results in the Spanish Bachillerato and read a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Teaching at the University of Alcalá de Henares thereafter. As part of my degree, I qualified as a Primary Teacher in 2013 and, I carried out teaching practice in a local school in 2010 and 2012 obtained with honours and realised that teaching was definitely for me.

From I worked as an English teacher in English Bus Academy in Madrid. This gave me an opportunity to interact with a variety of students, ranging from young children to adults. It was during this period that I found working with kids particularly rewarding, not only from a linguistic point of view, but also on a personal level.

I worked as a Spanish Assistant and Language Assistants Coordinator in Tonbridge School. During my three-year contract, I worked with pupils from Year 9 to Year 13, helping them hone their speaking skills for GSCE and A-Level, and become more confident communicating in the target language. This gave me a real understanding of the complexities of learning Spanish from a pupil´s point of view, and also the complexities of both the GCSE and A-Level syllabi. Part of my role as language assistant was to focus on the cultural component of the A-level syllabus.

My time at Tonbridge also enabled to me familiarise myself with, and better understand life at a boarding school. Working as a Boarding House Tutor was an enriching experience in terms of pastoral care and gave me a chance to get to know pupils in a more relaxed environment. Taking part of an annual trip to Salamanca with a colleague and Spanish students gave me the sense and the importance of the pastoral side in the school.

Personally, I possess a genuine interest in the development of the children I teach, and I will do everything possible to ignite a desire to learn in the minds of your primary pupils. I am always looking at ways in which I can improve myself. I have high expectations of myself, and take my responsibility as a teacher very seriously.

I find teaching very rewarding as well as challenging and this is why it would be an honour to be part of and contribute to your school. During my time at Tonbridge I also had the opportunity to run a Spanish Club at a local Primary School as part of the Tonbridge Community Action and it was a huge success.

I am confident that my background and passion for Education would enable me to make a significant and positive impact on your school/ company.
