Elisa Pérez

Hello! I am a native Spanish speaker and a qualified teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE).

I specialise in GCSE and A-Level Spanish and I am fully up to date with the current exam specifications. I previously worked at Machado School, where I prepared students successfully for their Spanish exams.

My teaching method focuses on building confidence and fluency from the beginning. I encourage students to speak Spanish during lessons as much as possible, which helps significantly with speaking exams and long-term language development. I also keep in contact throughout the week to encourage students to practise what they have learned in class.

For exam preparation, we begin working with past papers early so students become familiar with exam-style questions and improve their technique and timing.

For A-Level students, I can also help with essay-writing techniques, film and literature analysis, and oral exam preparation. I have worked with students who achieved top grades, including A and A*. Some of the books and films we have studied include La Casa de Bernarda Alba, Réquiem por un campesino español, Volver, Diario de motocicleta and Como agua para chocolate.

I enjoy helping students understand themes, characters and narrative techniques in depth while improving their confidence in spoken and written Spanish.

What I enjoy most about teaching is seeing students progress quickly and gain confidence in a second language. For GCSE students, we work on all key topics needed to communicate effectively and succeed in exams.
