I'm writing to express my eagerness to apply my extensive academic, research, and professional background in geography, geomatics, and space science to a role at an innovative company. I studied throughout my career in English and English is the official language in my native country, so I can teach English as well because I have cleared EngliSh competency test named Versant English Test. I am a Pakistani geographer with over ten years of varied experience in GIS, remote sensing, spatial data analysis, environmental assessment, and higher education teaching. I currently reside in Barcelona. I have been a lecturer at Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) for nearly ten years. FCCU is an American Liberal Arts Education System. During that time, I have taught, managed research projects, and contributed to the development of curricula. In my role as a GIS Expert for the World Bank-funded NESPAK PULSE project, I was also able to apply state-of-the-art geospatial techniques to real land system issues. With my hands-on experience with ArcGIS, ENVI, MATLAB, ER Mapper, Google Earth Engine, ERDAS Imagine, Global Mapper, and ML/AI tools, I can analyse complex datasets, optimise spatial workflows, and develop decision-support solutions for the academic, governmental, and development sectors.
My academic background includes dual M.Phils in Geomatics and Space Sciences, an ongoing PhD in Space Science, and numerous international publications, conference presentations, workshops, and training programs related to climate change, neotectonics, environmental monitoring, and geospatial big data. I have conducted and supervised research on a wide range of topics, including hazard mapping, erosion modelling using RUSLE and hypsometric approaches, urban tourism, land-use/land-cover change, disaster risk management, and climate-related spatial evaluations. My participation in international summer schools, training in drone-based spatial analysis, international collaborations, and award-winning performance in geoinformatics programs all attest to my commitment to continuous improvement and global engagement. I'm thrilled to offer my technical, analytical, and research-focused expertise to a business that values innovation, scientific rigour, and sustainable development. I currently reside in Barcelona.
