I have been living in Spain on and off since September 2018 so that I have had the chance to be fully immersed both in the language and the culture of the country. I have also spent 3 months working as an intern in a publishing house where I had to spell-check and proof read both poetry books and novels in Spanish. I have also had the chance to study English literature while living in Spain, so that all the communication took place in languages which were not my mother tongue. I believe that being a foreigner gives me insight into what learners struggle the most understanding when learning Spanish, given that I have been there myself. My lessons would take place all in Spanish, as to give the chance to practice the listening and speaking skills of the students. A part of the lesson would be devoted to grammar and vocabulary, as to learn new structures and words through written exercises. The other part of the lesson would focus more on the listening and speaking part, where I would encourage students to have conversations with me about the topics they may find more interesting and stimulating. I would also encourage them to write short texts, so that they get used to using connectors and expressions which belong to the written part of Spanish, as well as learning different text types and how to properly structure them. My main goal, however, would be for students to learn Spanish while having fun, so that they can feel free to go to Spain and communicate with the locals.
