I was born and raised in Northern China, the birthplace of Mandarin Chinese and Chinese culture. I earned my Master's degree in Literature from Shanghai University and have a deep passion for Chinese language and literature, Chinese education, and cultural exchange between the East and West. I hold a teaching qualification certificate, an IPA Advanced Chinese Teacher qualification, and certification as a Chinese teacher from the Confucius Institute.
With over 5 years of one-on-one teaching experience, I believe that teaching is not just about transferring knowledge; it's more about helping you find the learning methods that work best for you. I also optimize my teaching plans in real-time based on your learning progress, making your studies more efficient.
Language is not just a means of communication; it carries social and cultural significance. The power of storytelling is immense, and I excel in cultural experiences and story-based teaching methods. I like to incorporate film stories and other cultural contexts to create customized course systems for different students.
My students range from HSK1 to HSK7 levels. We learn from classic textbooks, but that's just the beginning. I integrate dialogues from real Chinese social life into our lessons. For example, friends rarely say "hello!" to each other, and we seldom ask, "What’s your name?" Because of this, many students not only pass the HSK exams quickly but also communicate more naturally with Chinese people. I also teach students who prefer not to use HSK textbooks and want courses tailored to their interests, such as international relations, business, Chinese cultural history, and Chinese cinema. We learn Chinese language and culture through topics that resonate with their interests. In short, my course design is entirely student-centered, focusing on making learning enjoyable.
