Linda Busquet

My name is Linda Busquet Ayala and I am from Cuba currently living in Madrid. Graduated from the University of Havana, I hold a Bachelor in Russian Language with English as a second foreign language with Educator and Translator-Interpreter profiles. Throughout my 12 years of career I have worked and developed both profiles. As a teacher working in the Institute of Foreign Affairs in Cuba, I have helped adolescents from the Bachelors program, and adults in the Diplomatic attaché program develop language skills using my knowledge in Linguistics, and implementing e-learning tools to improve their abilities according to their needs. During the pandemic I carried out the development and implementation of the first Moodle Platform for online and distance learning in the Institute, as well as seeing through the new methods of e-learning and flipped classrooms. These new approaches came with adaptation of our previous materials, a new look on the Curriculum and improvement of teaching skills for the educators and learning skills for the students. As a result of its implementation, I was named head of the English discipline in the Department of Languages. My tasks included supervising the implementation of the curriculum, reviewing placement tests and constantly improving and developing our teaching methods according to the curriculum and standards of the Institute. I developed my private tutoring skills for middle school children and high school teenagers in Cuba by helping students prepare for their school exams, international IELTS and embassy interviews to travel. Using official websites materials and through a communicative approach style lessons they developed their speaking and comprehension skills, focusing on fluency and accuracy. In the last two years taught English face to face and through online lessons to Hungarian high school students and adults as part of the BLC private English Academy faculty. My previous experiences have allowed me to help Hungarians break through the language barrier and see them advance in learning a foreign language. My expertise in choosing effective materials for education development come from 12 years of continuous self-improvement and attention to detail. Creating a fun and relaxed environment to learn has always been my goal as a teacher and it has delivered results in the form of students advancing in their level and improving their fluency and grammar skills. Lessons become much more enjoyable when combining local and foreign cultural experiences and creating a free of stress setting to learn. I welcome the opportunity and challenge to work and continue to help others achieve their goals and dreams related to foreign languages.
