Marcus Emmerson

With over 10 years experience I´ve covered all areas of English teaching in Spain. For several years now I´ve been concentrating on B2 - C2 levels, teaching adults on courses and individually. My experience has shown me that there isn´t one magic method to learn a language . Language acquisition requires time and regular practice . There are however methods that are more effective than others when the exam is just around the corner and time is pressing. Over the years I´ve picked up a lot of language learning tips that I apply with my students. The tips come from an extensive knowledge of the English language in use and include some of the following ;

1) The 15 minute core phrasal verb bash - a question and answer session with the most frequently
used phrasal verbs from the Cambridge exams ( B2- C2 )
2) Concentration on recognising and using through repetition the most common verb /noun phrase
combinations in writing.
3) Preliminary brain storming sessions on organising ideas and key grammatical structures and
vocabualary before describing visual material.

As with everything in life feeling is paramount. I try to establish a rapport with my students. It´s important that the student feels as free as possible to express themselves AND ENJOY themselves in class. This isn´t always possible , but even if this doesn´t happen a professional organised approach from the teacher is usually sufficient to get good final results.

Recharged and ready for the 26-27 season of English. The bench is stacked and stocked with great ideas!
