Mikaela Swiel

Hello! Starting with a little about myself, I'm Mikaela, and I'm 20 years old. I have recently moved to Valencia after living in the UAE for 15 years. I am from Cape Town, South Africa.

My classes are designed to be flexible, encouraging, and tailored to the needs of each student. I understand that every child learns differently, which is why I focus on building confidence and curiosity alongside academic skills. Whether we're tackling school subjects, preparing for tests, or working through areas of difficulty, I always create a calm, patient environment where students feel safe and motivated.

I have several years of experience working with children in both academic and caregiving roles, including tutoring, babysitting, au pairing, and ecological dive mentoring. I’ve also worked with children who have special needs and learning difficulties, such as dyslexia.

I love weaving my enthusiasm for the natural world into lessons when appropriate. My approach is interactive and encouraging: I use questions, examples, and discussions to help students actively engage with the material rather than simply memorise it.

The goal in every session is progress — not just in grades, but in self-belief. I’m here to help your child feel capable, understood, and supported every step of the way.
