CORPOSOUND

Corpusound is an innovative percussion methodology for dancers, musicians, actors and anyone interested in music and percussion.

A musical voyage of the world through the body. It’s a system created to teach music from an approach of body movement, games and fun. The basic, intermediate and advanced levels uncover the key to understanding the magic of each rhythm and its variations. The method has been designed, explored and developed for more than ten years in classes and workshops, all around the world.

The following schools, have explored this method through workshops and master classes.

Aula de música ( Liceu – Barcelona ), Conservatory of Arles, Cambridge University, Coral School of Music Madrid,Conservatory of Cataluña( ESMUC ), among others .

Artists who have implemented corpusound are: Primate, Siudy (Entre – Mundos), Ballet Teresa Carreño, art-o de caracas, sama sama , Heart ( cirque du soleil ).

Course description:
• Execution of basic sounds. Chest, stomp, snap, clap’s variations, arms.
• Identification of the concept’s tempo, pulse and subdivisions (Pyramid).
• Basic exercises of independence with the extremities.
• Adaptation of Afro - Caribbean rhythms to the body:
• Baiao, Samba (Brazil)
• Son montuno, Chachalokafun, Danzón (Cuba)
• Caraballeda, San Millán, Mina, Calipso (Venezuela)
The course has a printed theoretical material, that contains a summary of the exercises carried out in the 8 hours of practical teaching. At the end of the course, all the participants prepare a full performance open to the public.
The formation "Corposound" has been taught in: Arles (France), Edinburgh (Scotland), University of Cambridge, Bolivar Hall (England), Ballet Teresa Carreño, Sumito Estevez culinary school (Venezuela), Dubai City Festival (Dubai), Foundation of social action for music, Liceu Conservatory, Municipal School of Catalonia (Spain).

ROBERTO CASTILLO LAGRANGE

Is a Berklee College of Music graduate, who has alternated between drums and percussion from an early age, having been part of ensembles from very different genres including classical Orquesta Sinfonica de Miranda o Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho to Jazz groups such as Zumbao , Gonzo Grau , Edu Tancredi and Pop artists such as Ilan Chester, Karina , Aditus and Guillermo Carrasco, among others.

After years of experience, in 2002, he started developing his new method for all body percussion genres, Corpusound. He has offered Corpusound workshops in Spain, México , United States , England ,Venezuela , Scotland and the Czech Republic. Has recorded more than 40 international albums. In 2002 he joined MAYUMANA touring the world and in 2015 joined the SAMA-SAMA production of Cirque du Soleil and HEART By Cirque du Soleil and Adria Brothers.
In 2006 he starts PRIMATE, a band dedicated to non-conventional percussion with whom he tours Spain, Italy, Dubai, Scotland, México, the Czech Republic, Panamá and Venezuela.
In 2008 Roberto is invited to join the creative team of “Siudy Entre Mundos” and is one of the main characters. The show is performed on Broadway, Orlando and Houston between 2012 and 2014.
