Sofía Valero

Hello there! I’m Sofía, a native Spanish speaker with both Mexican and Spanish heritage. I have a Bachelor’s degree in History, a Master's degree in Cultural Management and I’m certified as a Spanish teacher by the Cervantes Institute.
I have worked as both a Spanish and English teacher in schools and as a personal tutor and now I have decided to venture into the online world. I am passionate about languages, literature, culture and travel. I believe that the best way to truly understand a language is by integrating the culture of the country into the language learning journey; it’s essential we look at their way of thinking and their outlook on life, their music, their customs and their food.
My experience has allowed me to acquire a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of what it takes to achieve real results with a language. It is necessary to practise the four key skills - reading, writing, listening and speaking - while also working on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. We will work together not only to reinforce your weak points, but also to develop your strengths.
