I'm Karla, a Spanish teacher with 20+ years of experience helping students become confident, natural speakers. 🤓
A little about me: I was born in Colombia 🇨🇴, grew up in Italy 🇮🇹, lived in London 🇬🇧, and I've been calling Barcelona 🇪🇸 home for the past 19 years. Thanks to my international background, I teach both Latin American Spanish and Spanish from Spain, helping students feel comfortable with either variety.
Alongside teaching languages, I studied Humanities, Film, and Photography. I also spent many years directing a salsa orchestra in Barcelona and working in creative fields connected to art and communication. These experiences have shaped the way I teach and the kind of atmosphere I create in my lessons. ☺️
My goal isn't just to teach grammar or vocabulary—it's to help you communicate with confidence. You'll build a solid foundation in Spanish while enjoying meaningful conversations in a relaxed, supportive environment where making mistakes is simply part of learning. ☀️
I hold an official Master's degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) and have additional training in Educational Coaching. This has given me a deeper understanding of how people learn and how to support students who feel stuck, anxious, or lack confidence when speaking.
