Hello ! My name is Elise and I from the United States, from Houston, Texas. This is my second year living in Madrid and working as an English teacher in a primary school. I am TEFL certified (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and I have helped many of my students prepare for the Cambridge Exam. I really enjoy my job, and some of my hobbies include photography, traveling, and baking.

As a teacher, my main goal is to make you feel comfortable and confident while speaking English, as well as improving your skills along the way. I like to treat my lessons more as a conversation than a class. Of course if needed, I can help with something more specific than conversation, like grammar or vocabulary.

I try to create an engaging teaching environment, and I find that linking learning to popular culture or trends and interests relevant to the student is a particularly useful technique. This may involve talking about cultural differences, television shows or listening to and translating music. At the same time, your listening skills will be developed to broaden your vocabulary. If the student wants to practice reading and writing we will do so with interesting themes.
