Elise Adams

Hello ! My name is Elise and I from the United States, from Houston, Texas. This is my second year living in Madrid and working as an English teacher in a primary school. I really enjoy my job, and some of my hobbies include photography, traveling, and baking.

As a teacher, my main goal is to make you feel comfortable and confident while speaking English, as well as improving your skills along the way. I like to treat my lessons more as a conversation than a class.

I try to create an engaging teaching environment, and I find that linking learning to popular culture or trends and interests relevant to the student is a particularly useful technique. This may involve talking about cultural differences, television shows or listening to and translating music. At the same time, your listening skills will be developed to broaden your vocabulary. If the student wants to practice reading and writing we will do so with interesting themes.

Hola ! Me llamo Elise y soy de Estados Unidos, de Houston, Texas. Este es mi segundo año viviendo en Madrid y trabajando como profesora de inglés en un colegio de primaria. Disfruto mucho de mi trabajo, y algunas de mis aficiones son la fotografía, viajar y la repostería.

Mi principal objetivo como profesor es hacer que te sientas cómodo y confiado mientras hablas inglés, así como mejorar tus habilidades en el camino. Me gusta tratar mis lecciones más como una conversación que como una clase.

Intento crear un ambiente de enseñanza atractivo, y encuentro que vincular el aprendizaje con la cultura popular o las tendencias e intereses relevantes para el estudiante es una técnica particularmente útil. Esto puede implicar hablar de diferencias culturales, programas de televisión o escuchar y traducir música. Al mismo tiempo, se desarrollará su capacidad de escucha para ampliar su vocabulario. Si el alumno quiere practicar la lectura y la escritura, lo haremos con temas interesantes.
