Hello, everyone! It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Chris, and I'm here to share a bit about myself and my passion for teaching.
I was born and raised in Liverpool, England but I do not live there anymore.
I think of myself as a versatile teacher who is able to adapt my style based on my students age and proficiency. I love learning things from my students so I would choose ages 8 – 15 as my preferred age with an intermediate to advanced level of English. But that does not mean I cannot teach other ages. I am looking forward to teaching some adults too. I engage my students by showing a genuine interest in their lives outside of the classroom. I ask lots of “W” questions and then relate these stories to our lesson materials.
4 years ago, I moved to Bangkok, Thailand to teach English at an International school.
Right now, however, I live in Barcelona, which is in Spain. I have been here for 6 weeks. What a beautiful place it is. I have 2 children who are aged 9 and 2 and I love football!
I am a qualified English as a Foreign Language teacher and I have been teaching now for a little over 4 years.
I teach both English and Business English to students that are a variety of ages.
In Thailand, I worked at an international school teaching students aged 9 – 13. This was a fantastic experience and I learned a lot whilst having lots of fun with these students. They were all unique in their own way. As well as being from all different countries. This experience gave me confidence in being able to support students of different cultures. I also taught ECA classes in Sports and mad science.
As well as classroom-based classes, I have 3 years’ experience teaching students like you through an online platform. For the past 2 years, I have done this through my own teaching company. Some of the courses that I teach are Oxford Reading Tree, Oxford Discover, National Geographic Reach Higher amongst others. I have had some fantastic feedback from my students. Some of whom I have taught for over 300 hours.
