Hi, I’m Erik.
I am a native Swedish and English teacher from Stockholm with 9 years of teaching experience. I have taught English and Swedish online to students of all nationalities and ages. I have also worked as a teacher in schools and academies in Stockholm, Madrid and London.

My language journey started with learning Spanish in high school. I was pretty good so I decided to go to Argentina to study Spanish but immediately after I landed in Buenos Aires I got the harsh realisation that being good at languages in a classroom doesn't mean you speak (or understand the language) in real interactions with native speakers. That is when my learning style, and eventually my teaching method, started being shaped into what it is today.

My approach

A big part of my teaching method is about exposing the student to the authentic usage of the language and I base many lessons (including lessons for beginners) on articles, YT videos and podcasts that are aimed for native speakers (adapted to the student’s level). This is to prepare you for real life interactions, from ordering at cafes to delivering a presentation in meetings.

I use my own material that you won’t find anywhere else (although I’m more than happy to recommend you Swedish textbooks, learning blogs, etc., when asked).

Every lesson includes speaking practice. I believe you shouldn’t wait to start speaking in the new language, regardless of your level.
