As an ESL teacher I can work at the elementary, secondary and post-secondary levels or as an adult education teacher providing English instruction to classes or individual students.
classroom management; planning, preparing and delivering lessons to a range of classes and age groups; preparing and setting tests, examination papers, and exercises; marking and providing appropriate feedback on oral and written work; devising, writing and producing new materials, including audio and visual resources; organizing and getting involved in social and cultural activities such as sports competitions, school parties, dinners and excursions; attending and contributing to training sessions; participating in marketing events for the language school; freelance teaching on a one-to-one basis; basic administration, such as keeping student registers and attendance records.
I am a teacher because I enjoy hard work and helping others find success. I want my students to experience meaningful, interesting learning that applies to their lives. I believe this can be accomplished through the use of hands-on/minds-on activities, cooperative learning, an integrated curriculum, and, when possible, technology and the internet.
