Joanna Greenfield

Hola, hi! My name is Jo, I am a native English speaker from the southeast of England, and I’ve lived and worked in countries including Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland and now Spain.

My English-teaching journey began in 1995, when I worked as a class assistant in an Israeli-Arab town in the north of Israel. Years later, my “year out” in Japan turned into a much longer adventure! I spent a year teaching English at a school in Nara, working with Japanese students of all ages. I was trained in the school’s Elicitation, Production and Practice approach, which gave me a strong foundation in teaching techniques.

Since then, I’ve worked in book and magazine publishing and Media Management. As a senior editor, I developed a strong understanding of English language, grammar and communication. I also know what it’s like to use English professionally in an international working environment.

Whether you want to improve your everyday conversation, communicate more confidently at work, strengthen your grammar, or simply feel more comfortable speaking English, I’d love to help. We can focus on getting you through important exams, acing an interview or business meeting, or simply communicating better with friends and family. My aim is to give you confidence to express yourself in English in any situation.

My lessons are warm, relaxed and engaging, with a bit of fun along the way. I’ll draw on my experience of living in different countries and working with English throughout my career to help you build confidence and reach your goals.
