Greetings, I am writing to apply for an open position as an English Teacher for Tus Media. My engineering background and experience training colleagues mixed perfectly during my time at the Literacy Source. There I tutored and led small discussions with a wide range of students. All these experiences helped me create a strong foundation in communication, instruction and collaboration across cultural lines. I am excited with opportunities to support student growth in English skills while creating a classroom that values curiosity, participation, and mutual respect.

My professional experience has shaped the way I approach problems and teaching. My ten years as an engineer were especially powerful. My primary responsibilities focused on training colleagues on new equipment, creating instructional materials and served as a liaison between management and staff. These responsibilities taught me to take complex ideas and put them into clear and practical steps. From there, I would communicate how to use these materials to people of different backgrounds and experience. I applied those same skills while at the Literacy Source where I tutored small groups of adult learners. In that setting, I guided reading exercises, reviewed writing assignments, answered grammar questions, provided feedback on word pronunciation, and facilitated discussions to encourage both critical thinking and conversation skills. All these experiences helped me develop patience, adaptability, and a deep appreciation for how engagement plays a critical role in language learning.

I believe these experiences would make me a strong candidate for Tus Media. My experience in designing training materials and supportive nature has helped me understand how to communicate effectively, encourage participation, and adapt to various student needs. I enjoy collaborating with others to bring a positive learning environment where student interactions and cooperative learning are part of each lesson. As a language assistant, I would aim to support both teachers and students with strong conversation practice, build student confidence and bring the same enthusiasm I brought at the Literacy Source to each classroom.

In the last few years, Spain has worked to reduce its dropout rate with the Ley Orgánica de Modificación de la Ley Orgánica de Educación (LOMLOE). The focus on group work, critical thinking, and emotional growth is a positive difference from the education seen in the US. In ten years Spain’s dropout rates went from 20% to 9%. Contributing to this positive trend and helping develop those skills in English would be both rewarding and meaningful.
