Joseph Halevy

Hello! My name is Joseph Halevy. I am a multilingual Psychologist. During my four years in College I taught English with the Berlitz School of languages. I enjoy teaching and learning! My favorite topics are languages, history, psychology and many other fascinating disciplines. I like to evaluate each individual and listen to their goals and aspirations. Then I design and adapt my classes to my student’s needs and their goals so that they can see results within an excellent amount of time.
I prefer teaching English conversation and comprehension first, separately from writing. Children learn their native language by listening first, then repeating and then understanding the language. They finally learn how to speak. Reading and Writing skills come later. So I follow a more organic learning path. I also recommend studying grammar only after you are able to speak and understand the target language with certain fluency.

Now a little information about me: I am a USA citizen living in downtown Barcelona, Catalunya. I lived in Chattanooga Tennessee, in the United States, Studied Psychology at a University in South America. I moved to FortLauderdale in the state of Florida where I worked as a hotel manager in South Beach. Then returned to the state of Tennessee for seventeen years and then moved to Sweden for two years. I now reside in Barcelona, Catalunya where I am a permanent resident. I am an interpreter and a language coach.
