I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in International Studies (Development) from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I learnt the basic roots of Spanish grammar to be able to have a base level of Spanish, which I am improving everyday as I currently live in Huércal-Overa, Almería, where I am working as an English Language and Cultural Assistant at a high school. During almost the entirety of my university studies I volunteered and interned for a Melbourne-based Non-Government Organisation, called the Centre for Multicultural Youth. During my time at the Centre for Multicultural Youth, I developed extensive experience in working with people who have English as a second (sometimes third, forth, or even fifth!) language, in both physical and virtual classroom settings. I was able to strengthen my skills as a classroom facilitator and improve student engagement, as well as my interpersonal communication skills. Currently, I continue to grow my teaching experience, specifcally with Spanish learners, in my current role at IES Cura Valera. I attend a rotation of 19 classes with an average of 25 students that speak English as a second language, and am responsible for planning relevant learning content. I also have experience working at an English academy, where I developed strong knowledge about the Cambridge English exams, having taught students up to the B2 level of Cambridge. I am passionate about teaching with a strengths-based approach, and really building a strong rapport as a teacher responsible for the progression of my students. I look forward to working with students that are excited about improving their English! I also have a base foundation of Spanish to assist with learning and explaining different parts of English.
