I was born in Poland but I spent half of my life, including obtaining my university education, in Ireland. I have a bachelor's degree in Journalism from NUI Maynooth and a Master's Degree in International Relations from UCD, both in Dublin. I have recently moved to Barcelona from Dublin where I worked as a radio journalist for a national broadcaster.
Although media is my first passion and my main job, teaching English is something I've always done on the side, allowing for more than 15 years of experience. I have taught people of various ages and levels, always with the approach that you learn faster and easier when you do it through the subjects that you are passionate about.
Nowadays, with the abundance of easily accessed online content (articles, podcasts, documentaries), students have an amazing opportunity to enter the world they are interested in from an English-speaking (global) perspective. It's a great motivator! Whether you love music, entertainment, films, travel or science, you can learn and practice English through reading, listening or watching content that is fascinating. You won't even realise you are also studying English! :) You'll learn to talk about day-to-day activities and to cover topics which could prove useful at work or university.
I give individual lessons but I also enjoy teaching small groups. Contrary to popular belief, learning with other people is beneficial because it encourages speaking and helps develop confidence. So whether you're adults, college students, or parents of kids, reach out! I'll be happy to introduce myself.
