Hello! I'm LJ, and I'm passionate about helping students build confidence in English through practical, engaging, and supportive online lessons.

My teaching approach focuses on creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, and improve at their own pace. Every lesson is tailored to the student's level, goals, and learning style, whether they want to improve conversational English, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading, writing, or listening skills.

I believe that learning English should be interactive and enjoyable. My lessons include real-life conversations, guided practice, role-playing, reading exercises, vocabulary building, and constructive feedback to help students communicate naturally and confidently. I adapt each session to meet individual needs, whether the student is a beginner, preparing for school or exams, or improving English for work, travel, or everyday communication.

What sets my teaching apart is real-world experience. I've spent over 12 years working in finance and corporate roles across the UAE, Qatar, and the Philippines, collaborating daily with multicultural teams at organizations including Qatar Airways, Deloitte, Maersk, and Kia Motors. English was the working language across all of these environments, so I've used it constantly in meetings, negotiations, reports, and everyday professional communication. I know firsthand what it takes to sound clear, confident, and natural in English at work, and I bring that practical understanding into every lesson, especially for students preparing for job interviews, workplace communication, or business English.

A typical lesson with me starts with a short warm-up conversation to ease into English and review previous topics. From there, we focus on the day's theme, whether that's grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, or a specific real-life scenario like writing an email or preparing for a meeting. We then move into guided practice and role-play so the concept feels natural rather than just memorized, followed by open conversation practice and feedback at the end of the session. I keep notes on progress so each lesson builds on the last, and I'm happy to share simple materials or exercises between sessions if that's helpful.

I teach via Microsoft Teams or FaceTime, using a mix of conversation, visual aids, and shared documents to keep lessons interactive rather than lecture-style. Whether you're a complete beginner or an advanced speaker polishing fluency, I adjust the pace, vocabulary, and difficulty to match exactly where you are.

Beyond adults and professionals, I'm also happy to work with younger students who need support with school English or building early confidence with the language.
