Having both formally learned English for over 15 years and also lived in the United Kingdom, I know both the academic formalities and the cultural nuances of the language.
I grew up in the Netherlands, where I attended an International School, conducting my whole education in English, graduating the IBDP English Language and Literature Higher Level with the highest, maximum results. Additionally, I provided English and essay writing support and tutoring to other IBDP students and for years below, helping my students understand how to speak and write more effeciently.
I then moved to the United Kingdom for my Bachelors Degree, continuing to study the language in a more cultural perspective too. I also have experiences learning other languages too, so I know what works for students and as a teacher. I aim to provide a comfortable and very engaging experience, whether preparing for an exam or just trying to improve your conversational skills. I keep a fun mix of grammer, vocabularly and pronounciation through various tasks and games. English is not an "easy" language to learn, no language is, but I hope to make it a step easier for you.
Espanol: Tras haber estudiado inglés formalmente durante más de 15 años y haber vivido en el Reino Unido, conozco tanto las formalidades académicas como los matices culturales del idioma.
Crecí en los Países Bajos, donde asistí a un colegio internacional y realicé toda mi formación en inglés, graduándome del Programa de Diploma del Bachillerato en Lengua y Literatura Inglesas (BID) con las mejores calificaciones. Además, brindé apoyo y tutoría en inglés y redacción de ensayos a otros estudiantes del BID y durante años posteriores, ayudando a mis alumnos a comprender cómo hablar y escribir con mayor eficiencia.
Después me mudé al Reino Unido para cursar mi licenciatura y continué estudiando el idioma desde una perspectiva más cultural. También tengo experiencia aprendiendo otros idiomas, así que sé qué funciona tanto para estudiantes como para docentes. Mi objetivo es ofrecer una experiencia cómoda y muy atractiva, ya sea para preparar un examen o simplemente para mejorar tus habilidades conversacionales. Mantengo una divertida combinación de gramática, vocabulario y pronunciación a través de diversas tareas y juegos. El inglés no es un idioma “fácil” de aprender, ningún idioma lo es, pero espero hacerlo un paso más fácil para ti.
