Hi! I'm Mafe and I'm from Colombia. After living in many different places, I have settled down in Spain (at least for a while). I love teaching, languages, traveling, history, cultures and photography. And I am always happy to learn new things from my students as I help them practice conversation about their favorite topics.

I’ve been teaching Spanish since 2012, and I love what I do. It makes me very happy to see students who began with no Spanish now speaking confidently and holding real conversations.

I believe in active learning instead of passive learning. From day one, I help students think and express themselves in Spanish.
If a student can already hold conversations, we focus on speaking practice. I propose topics and ask questions that encourage them to think and express their ideas in Spanish.
For beginners, I explain the basics first, then we practice through exercises and real use of the language. I can also give optional homework for students who want to practice on their own.

¡Hola! Soy Mafe y soy de Colombia. Después de vivir en muchos lugares diferentes, me he establecido en España (al menos por un tiempo). Me encanta enseñar, los idiomas, viajar, la historia, las culturas y la fotografía. Me gusta mucho aprender cosas nuevas de mis alumnos mientras los ayudo a practicar con conversaciones sobre sus temas favoritos.

He estado enseñando español desde 2012 y amo lo que hago. Me hace muy feliz ver a estudiantes que comenzaron sin hablar nada de español ahora hablan con confianza y mantienen conversaciones reales.

Creo en el aprendizaje activo en lugar del aprendizaje pasivo. Desde el primer día ayudo a mis estudiantes a pensar y expresarse en español.
Si un estudiante ya puede mantener conversaciones, nos centramos en la práctica oral. Propongo temas y hago preguntas que los animen a pensar y expresar sus ideas en español.
Para principiantes, primero explico lo básico, luego practicamos mediante ejercicios y uso real del idioma.
También puedo dar tareas opcionales para estudiantes que quieran practicar por su cuenta.
