Mario Molina

I hold a university degree in English Language Teaching and Education from Colombia and a Master’s Degree in TESOL from the United States. I am currently pursuing my PhD studies in Education at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in Spain. I use English for my teaching and research duties on a daily basis, so I have excellent communication, writing, and oral presentation skills.

I have several years of teaching experience at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels in Colombia and the United States. I have teaching and research experience in English as a second language (ESL) in American schools, where I worked as an ESL teacher for five years. My teaching duties not only required me to teach English to speakers of other languages but also to collaborate with professionals in other content areas; hence, I co-taught mathematics, language arts, science, and social studies in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I was also a self-contained teacher for three years; therefore, I have knowledge of and experience with approaches in bilingual education including full immersion, content-based instruction, CLIL, and English for academic purposes.

In addition, I have experience in standardized English language tests. I was an IELTS examiner for two years; I conducted interviews for the speaking part and graded the tasks for the writing part. I also designed and taught a preparation course for the TOEFL and IELTS tests for fours years in my university. The course included preparation for the four sections of the exam (listening, reading, speaking, and writing) and offered advanced grammar lessons to strengthen the students' speaking and writing.
