Since 1999, Mark worked at some of the world’s leading PR agencies in London specialising in media relations, crisis management, political consultancy and new business development. Before moving to Barcelona, he was an account director at Weber Shandwick Worldwide, working in its Strategic Media Group reporting to the Vice-Chairman. He ghostwrote articles for the Financial Times, The Times, trade journals and media-trained spokespeople that regularly featured on Bloomberg, CNN, BBC & CNBC. Clients included British Telecom, COLT, Intel, Monsanto, Nokia and he was special PR counsel to IBM Telecoms Division’s World Wide General Manager for two years.
With a new base in Barcelona after moving from London in 2004, Mark pursued a full-time career in the music industry, both as an artist and an artist manager, working with brands such as Blanco y Negro Music and the Pacha Group. He produced and managed over 200 music releases, achieving high sales volumes, numerous compilation inclusions, hundreds of thousands of digital platform views, radio plays all over the world and a top ten hit in Spain’s Los 40 Principales charts. He was also a broadcaster on FM radio in the UK, Germany and Spain and began writing as a freelance music journalist for music publications and The Sun newspaper.
Mark qualified as a Cambridge CELTA English trainer in 2018.
