Mark Tripulskyi

My classes are designed to help students improve in a practical, competitive, and enjoyable way. As an active tournament player who has competed and won at city, regional, state, and national levels, I understand what it takes to progress from beginner to high-level competitive chess. I am currently ranked among the top chess players in Texas for my age group, and I bring that real tournament experience into every lesson with my students.

I work with players of all levels, from complete beginners learning the basics to advanced students preparing for tournaments and rating improvement. My teaching style focuses on understanding chess deeply rather than memorizing moves. During lessons, we analyze games together, solve tactical exercises, study strategic concepts, improve opening preparation, and learn practical endgame techniques. I also teach important competitive skills such as calculation, time management, confidence under pressure, and how to think during critical moments in a game.

Since I speak English, Ukrainian, and Russian, I can comfortably work with students from different backgrounds and explain complex ideas in a clear and accessible way. My experience organizing tournaments and working with younger players has also helped me develop a patient and supportive coaching style.

I strongly believe that every student learns differently, so I personalize lessons based on each player’s strengths, weaknesses, and goals.
