I believe that hearing/reading and asking questions is the best way to understand a language and slowly trying to respond until you can have a fluid conversation.

About my journey of learning English: I'm a singer/songwriter and I've been writing songs since I'm 12 years old. Since I only write in English and I was not very good at the language growing up, I used to search on the internet words and sentences translated from Portuguese to English so I would always associate what I've learned to my mother tongue (it helps a lot). Another thing I used to do is search words that rhyme for my songs to be more melodic and that also gave me more knowledge about different words and differents ways to say the same things. Besides my writing, I always listened to English songs and watched a lot of English movies with Portuguese subtitles (at first) which allowed me to connect both languages (again) and iteasier for me to understand what the characters were saying. At some point, I started watching the movies and videos solely in English until I was not struggling anymore to understand everything. After I moved to Ireland and started to speak and listen to everyone in English my already advanced level upgraded to Native level in 2/3 months.

It's possible to be fluent and I'm a living proof, I'll teach you my ways and you'll be confident in your skills in no time!
