Mirta Elena Caballero Migueles

Hi,
My name is Mirta Caballero Migueles. I am from Argentina so I am a Spanish native speaker. I am currently living in Segovia, Spain. I have a Bachelor's Degree in the English Language and I have a wide experience in teaching English at university level for more than 25 years. I have also inmersed in Information Technology studies. I have a Bachellor’s degree in Educational Technology and I am working on a research project to get a Master’s degree on Informatics applied to Education in which I’ve learned about Database, Data Mining, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. So as you can see I master English, Information Technology and I have acquiered skills in related software as well.

As an English professor I have acquired a great expertise in teaching English from a communicative approach in different fields of knowledge, integrating educational platforms and digital resources. This blended learning approach has proven successful in my purpose to help students achieve their personal and professional goals. Besides I have a wide and enriching experience in Literature of the English Speaking Countries and classical literature. I have written essays and papers analysing canonic and non canonic pieces of work.
On the other hand, I have acquired a wide experience in the teaching of reading comprehension of technical articles and reviews on fields such as Informatics, Telecommunications, Electronics, Maths, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Industrial Organization. In these fields I have dealt with technical translations from English into Spanish and viceversa, applying a variety of techniques for developing reading strategies in the students. The rich experience acquired encouraged me to write a book on Technical Translation strategies called “Easy Reading”, published by a prestigious Argentinian University.
As regards other languages, I also speak and read Italian fluently. As regards French I understand and follow dialogues and readings, although I can’t speak very well.

I have delivered speaches at international conferences and congresses during these years and I have successfully led a research project on Cultural Tourism in one of the universities where I work. Currently I am a member of a project on Entonation and Literature, enhancing students’ entonation through Music and Drama.

I think I am a good fit for any post that demands academic knowledge of English, applying didactic approaches suitable for digital contexts and technical competence to design and present material in a clear, effective, coherent and accurate way, My professional experience together with pedagogy and didactics have been enriched by my skills in visual communication because I am an amateur artist in my free time.

What’s more, as regards my interpersonal skills, I am sociable, dynamic, easily adaptable, and prompt to work in a team on multiple projects. Collaborative and cooperative work have been the most important skills I have developed.

Motivation
I love to work on line on a teaching platform because in general terms this kind of teaching technology offers an interesting and very broad proposal in teaching English for specific purposes, offering different learning alternatives according to the needs of learners in the academic environment and the labour market, providing time flexibility, accessibility and innovative teaching techniques.
What is more, I consider myself highly qualified for any of the posts offered due to my long academic and professional experience and my qualifications related to specific purpose teaching and virtual learning. Besides, it allows me job flexibility and the opportunity to grow personally and professionally by coming into contact with people from other cultures and different work contexts that I expect will enrich each other.
