Preparación de Oposiciones de Secundaria en Murcia (Master)

Juan José Bastida has just signed up to be Master Formación´s new teacher trainer of English for the preparation of the upcoming 2018 secondary competitive tests. He is an English secondary teacher in the autonomous community of Murcia.
Juan José started his teaching career in-and he is a highly qualified English teacher in Secondary Education and an experienced teacher regarding bilingual programs and communicative approaches of EFL.
Bachelor of Arts in English Studies in the University of Murcia, Juan José spent a year researching literature and cinema studies at the University of Leeds (UK). He studied a doctorate in the University of Murcia (‘Anglo American Studies: Texts and Contexts’) obtaining the DEA (doctorate) in 2008.

Structure of sessions:

Presentation / discussion of the weekly unit (typically two or three a week) from the official list of units for EFL (English as a Foreign Language).

Wide range of exercises on the English language at Proficiency-like level, as preparation for a likely practical part of the competitive exam (including listening comprehensions and short questions on teaching practice).

Presentation of educational legislation currently in force and its implications when devising a Teaching Plan.

Analysis of the different sections comprised in a Teaching Plan, as well as the key points to be included in each of them in order to maximise success at the competitive exam.

Training on those ICT tools currently in vogue in the educational world and how to incorporate them into good teaching practice.

Advice on successful presentation techniques and regular practice where candidates will present one or more individual sections of the Teaching Plan, with feedback provided from both classmates and the teacher trainer.

Mock exams for both the theoretical and practical parts will be held regularly.

As for the oral part of the exam, each of the mandatory sections of the Teaching Plan as required in the legislation currently in force concerning access to the teaching profession (e.g. objectives, contents, competences, methodology, evaluation …) will be discussed in detail, paying special attention to those items which candidates are expected to comment on in their presentations.
