You are probably far better at English than you think.
Which of these sentences sounds more natural to you?
A) I work as an English teacher since 8 years.
B) I’ve been working as an English teacher for over 8 years.
If you chose sentence B, you’re right. Maybe you know why, or maybe it just feels right now.
And if you chose A? It isn’t correct, but it’s still a good answer. Making mistakes like this is a normal (and necessary) part of learning, and I encourage students to have the confidence to make them.
The most important thing in any language is communication. An English speaker would still understand sentence A, but sounding more natural means understanding when and why we use certain forms - in this case, grammar.
This is the kind of thing we can work on in class. In class, I will set objectives based on your level and needs, giving you an easy-to-follow step by step process and the chance to practise what you have learnt.
If you are looking for exam classes, we will look at what the exam wants, why certain answers work, and how to use your existing English more effectively. Exams do not test "perfect" English, they test specific skills. I will help you to get to know the exam and what is expected of you in each part.
You will see examples of strong and weak answers, practise with guidance, and the chance to try out past exam papers.
You don't need perfect English to start - we will look together at what works and what can be improved.
I look forward to helping you!
