I am a British native with the TEFL qualification, with twenty-five years experience in Spain.I have taught and been director of two schools in Seville.I now live near to Madrid where I teach private classes in small groups in a studio and online via Skype.
My methodolgy is the one I learned when studying for my qualification which shows how to teach anyone from any part of the world using only English.However,having lived in Spain and having a working knowledge of Spain I will explain the grammer differences which I have found a far faster and more effective way of doing it.This is if the students are Spanish.
If it is a class of conversation, I will always come with the aim of using topics related to British culture that can be interesting and fun.I will also find out the interests of the students and incorperate them into the class.Then,with the objective of teaching a certain vocabulary,or common expressions around a topic, we will begin giving them some sort of background information, which will be the foundation of the class.Whatever problems they might be having with tenses or other grammar problem we might encounter,I will give them the rule for it,when needed.
My classes are always fun and upbeat, enabling the student to enjoy the experience, as well as it being an a worthwhile human interaction between people, where both the teacher and student will feel enriched by each other's presence.
