Sandro Hernández Ortiz

Hi, I'm Sandro.

I'm a CELTA-certified teacher (Cambridge, via Oxford TEFL Barcelona) with six years' experience teaching adults and teenagers. Right now I teach at two language schools in the Vallès and run in-company courses, alongside my own private students.

Most of my work is exam preparation — B2 First and C1 Advanced — and practical English for work: meetings, emails, presentations. I also work with students who can already hold a conversation but have hit a ceiling and don't know why.

Before teaching, I trained and worked as a screenwriter. I have a Master's in screenwriting from Barcelona, and that still shapes how I teach. I'm more interested in whether you can build an argument, read something difficult and say what it actually means, and write something a native speaker would take seriously, than in whether you can fill in a gapped sentence correctly.

Every course starts with a diagnostic session. I find out what you can already do, where the real gaps are, and what's worth fixing first, then we build the plan around that. The diagnostic covers all four skills plus a short piece of writing, because writing is usually where the real level shows. I use coursebooks where they help and my own material where they don't.

I teach online and in person in Terrassa, Sant Cugat and Rubí.

If you tell me what you need English for and roughly where you are now, I will tell you honestly whether I'm the right teacher for it.
