Shyanne Garcia

I am an American-certified ESL and Elementary teacher with a K–8 Reading focus, and I am TESOL certified. I have taught students from kindergarten through seventh grade, including fourth and fifth grade in a bilingual school in Bogotá, Colombia. I have experience working with ESL learners from Vietnam, South Korea, Argentina, Colombia, and Spain, ranging in age from six to sixty.

I love learning about students’ goals and dreams so I can tailor lessons to meet your needs. I create custom exercises, activities, and resources to help you improve your English. We can focus on real-life situations like ordering in a restaurant, visiting a hospital, leading a meeting, or preparing for a job interview. I can also help with reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and more.

I am also currently living in Spain, so I do have some context of local customs, places, and daily life that we could discuss. This helps me create lessons that are relevant and practical for your experiences. Because I speak Spanish, I can also help you express your ideas accurately if you’re struggling with wording, ensuring your true meaning comes across clearly.
