Dear,
Students,
My name is Thomas McGowan and I am extremely interested in becoming your English teacher.
I am currently a native English teacher at Colegio de Fomento el Vedat just outside Valencia working primarily with students at primary level from roughly Pre-A1 to B1 level English. As a result I am extremely well versed in the Cambridge Examination system and what is required of students to gain such an important qualification. Through my position at Colegio el Vedat I have gained a great deal of experience working with both smaller conversation classes of around two to five students and also with bigger groups of as many as fifteen students. Throughout my year-long placement at Colegio el Vedat I was able to study and complete my 180 hour Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) qualification online at the International University of Catalonia.
Although I have primarily worked with students under the age of twelve, I also have experience teaching adults. Throughout the summer 2019 I worked as an English language instructor at the Universidad de Menendez y Pelayo in both Valencia and Santander, providing week long English language courses to University level students from ages 18 to 30 and from levels A2 to B2.
Prior to my year in Spain, I studied at the University of Exeter in the south west of England achieving a 2.1 Bachelor of Arts degree in History.
Currently I am very interested in taking on the new challenge of online teaching in order to achieve a more flexible working timetable working from home.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Thomas McGowan.
