ESL English Teacher with experience teaching all ages and all levels

A Theatre and Performance graduate who moved to Spain in 2016 to begin my teaching career. I began teaching mostly primary school children and here learned to apply my creative theatre background to my lesson plans. In my experience children and young teens learn best when presented with activities that both challenge them but are also fun and entertaining. I try to provide a variety of unique activities throughout the academic year so that students never feel as though lessons become repetitive. All of this I do in accordance with the curriculum and material required to complete the course.

I also apply creativity to adult and mature teen classes, especially those preparing for exams. In these classes I apply my knowledge of the grammar and vocabulary and present students with word challenges and grammar activities which reflect the exam tasks requirements. In these classes I encourage students to interact with each other in groups and pairs to solve problems and communicate with each other always in English.

In my classroom I try to create an environment where students feel safe to express themselves in a second language but where they also derive entertainment and enjoyment from each lesson attended and most importantly; always leave the classroom feeling like they have learned something new.
