Greetings!
I am an American who has been living and teaching in Egypt for twelve years. I have recently moved to Malaga and have decided that I would like to live here for an extended period of time.
I have many years of experience in teaching a variety of students in a variety of subjects: math, physics, English, biology, chemistry, history, business, etc. (please refer to my CV). The majority of my lessons are taken by ten- to eighteen-year-old middle and high school students, although I do have students as young as three. My oldest student is now seventy-four. In private lessons, I develop a program that is specific to the student, to enable that student to progress to his or her ultimate aims.
Each student, each level, each subject has brought me to the same conclusion: I love teaching. I am pleased to be able to help others learn – their successes are my successes. Teaching has also caused me to expand my knowledge and to appreciate the differences and similarities that all people possess. In Egypt I began teaching English, then, because teachers left the school, was asked to teach other subjects as well. Some of the subjects, such as history, were distant memories for me, and so, in order to teach them, I had to study and learn them first. This not only made me sympathetic with the students and what was expected of them, but also enabled me to learn. I like to incorporate games, role plays, and skits into the lessons to help students improve their academic skills while having fun.
Sincerely,
Dr. Vanessa Stocker
